The Massage Environment
Creating the right environment for massage, is all part of the holistic approach.
Warm but not too hot, and definitely never cold. If you over heat your sympathetic nervous system will engage, this is the opposite to what I am looking to achieve, the para-sympathetic nervous system, the body’s natural rest and repair state will support the work I do during and after the massage.
Not too much light, it’s not needed. Did you know the very first massage therapists in India were blind… it is all about feeling what is going on under the skin.
Subtle music will help you to withdraw and relax. Relaxation is key, a tense body and mind will not respond as well to massage as a relaxed one.
I am engaging and hopefully easy to talk to, helping you to feel at ease in my therapy room.
