Covid Secure Practice

Due to the extra measures in place to keep covid secure, please call when you arrive, I will then meet you at the entrance of The Lodge where your temperature will be taken and you will be required to sanitise your hands. You will need to wear your face mask throughout the treatment unless you are medically exempt. My therapy room will be aired, wiped down and used covers and towels replaced between clients, this was already standard practise prior to covid. I will continue to be stringent with my cleaning and sanitising procedures, I will wear a face mask throughout the appointment, I wash my hands regularly and always prior to and immediately following treatment. I will email or call you the day before your appointment to ask the covid related screening questions. Your reply will be noted on the client form I complete for every appointment. Please see my Data Protection Page for my DP policy.

Consultation

At your first appointment, there will be time allowed for a consultation. I will obtain succinct medical history to rule out any contraindications to massage and include lifestyle questions in order to tailor the massage to you at this time. This can take up to 20 minutes dependent on your health and lifestyle, please be aware this time is added to the end of your appointment so you get the time you have paid for on the table.

Medical Conditions

Massage is beneficial for most medical conditions, however with some conditions i.e. Cancer, Stroke, Heart Conditions or Major Surgery I may have to liaise with your GP prior to giving massage, I will need your consent to do this. If you think you may fall into this category please contact me to discuss your condition and/or any concerns prior to your first appointment.

Alcohol / Drugs

Please do not attend a massage appointment after consuming alcohol or illegal drugs, this would be counterproductive for your body, I would not be able to massage and you would still be liable for the cost.

Running late

Please arrive on time for your appointment, if you are running late, be courteous and let me know. If you are late this will impact your time on the table. If you are too late, I may not be able to accommodate you and half the cost of the appointment may still be incurred.

Cancellation policy

Cancellations are now accepted after the usual 24 hour notice period without any cost being incurred to you if you are feeling unwell or awaiting the result of your covid test. If you need to cancel for any other reason please do so before 24 hours or the cost of the treatment may still be applied.

Treatment room

My therapy room is a relaxing, private allocated space within The Village Podiatrist, there is a waiting room however this is currently unavailable due to the covid procedures we are following to stay covid secure.

During the Massage

If you want to provide feedback as we go, simply chat or completely switch off and not say a word, all are good, the massage is your time, I work with you and what helps you to feel comfortable and relaxed. Music will be playing quietly in the background however it can be switched off if you prefer.

Preparation

Following the consultation and agreed massage plan, I will leave the room for you to prepare, we will have discussed which clothes to remove for the massage and your required position on the table. Following the massage, I will again leave the room for you to dress in private, when I return aftercare advice will be discussed.
